MALOOF MONEY CUP day 2 & 3
What a weekend! Maloof Money Cup might have taken the cake of all cakes with this event. Entire concrete street course, the most amount of money ever, top pro's from everywhere in the world, from all the best teams! Talk about incredible!
Jereme Rogers completely destroyed it with every variation down every spot, during the semifinals and finals.
Feeble, switch feeble, smith, switch smith, it was back and fourth and Jeremy was running it!
Cruising through the semi-finals, Jeremy was prepped for the finals. Again, blasting trick for trick, Jeremy was on the program. For the efforts, Jereme Rogers was awarded 6th place and a cool $5,000. (nollie nosegrind: picture right)
Now Ryan Sheckler also breezed through the semi-finals, with trick after trick on the hubba and the bank rails! Very consistent and very fluid.. Their is no doubt why he is one of the top pro's. Plus forgetting to mention that he also had his elbow wrapped up due to an injury a couple days prior. Impressive.
During the finals Sheckler had some distractions. (see picture above with Lil Jon and tv crew) Ryan reality tv show: Life of Ryan was being filmed, but he focused and gave everyone a run for the money, 100 grand worth of Money. Variations down the Carlsbad gap and then killers on the main 16 stair rail. Backside smith (pictured right), backside lips!
It was such a close battle on who was getting first and that wonderful 100,000 dollar prize!
With the likes of Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds, 14 year old Njyah Huston and of course P.Rod, it was a tough battle.
Ryan Sheckler was awarded 4th place and $15,000 for his tricks!
Now for vert, Red Bull Pro Sandro Dias from Brazil and Shaun White put on a incedible show. The crowd witnessing the lack of gravitty caused them to "OHHH and AHHH".
As the finals started things started to get cooking and before you knew it, Shaun was killing it with solid runs back to back to back, as he wow'd the judges (picture below) and they presented Shaun with 2nd place in the Pro Vert plus a $35,000 purse.
Now as for Sandro, after the runs were taken, liberties were allowed and before you knew it, Sandro Dias did the "900" (picture below) right before the crowds eyes. The crowd went wild and the stands shook with cheers!
