Shaun White
What's it like to be Shaun White? The product of a Southern California childhood, Shaun has become the poster child for what kids want to be when they grow up. Sorry firemen, policemen, doctors and lawyers, kids want to ride.
From playboy playmates to Rolling Stone's pages, the Hollywood Hills to Olympic Halfpipes, Shaun has taken snowboarding and skateboarding and brought it to the top of the global podium. And Shaun is familiar with being at the top of the podium. In 2007, Shaun staked claim to some of the biggest wins of his career and moved himself and snowboarding into a whole new level of shredding!

The Dream Year Extended**
Shaun tackled the snow like no other in 2007. Coming off of an Olympic gold medal in 2006, the spotlight continued to shine and so did Shaun. He marched through the season taking podiums across the world, claiming snowboarding's highest honors in 2007 with victories at Winter X Games Superpipe, as well as the Burton Global Open Championship and the TTR Tour Championship.
Summer Skating
But he didn't clock out after that. Swap the snowboard for the skate deck and it was back to business. The Action Sports Tour was in full swing and Shaun's skate vert game was sizzling! Stop after stop, Shaun held tight to the tour lead, eventually taking the AST Tour Title in October at the Orlando stop.
The Future
Shaun is on point for another incredible year on the snow and the ramp. As winter comes into the Northern Hemisphere, everyone watches the storms looking for the best snow in the world. Watch for Shaun at Winter X Games in January as well as at the Burton European Open and Nippon Open. Also, watch for the Top Secret Red Bull Powder Mission to turn heads as well.
The Family
Shaun was born, Shaun Roger White, on Sept. 3, 1986, in Carlsbad, CA where he grew up in a family of five: Mom (Kathy), Dad (Roger), Sister (Kerri) and Brother (Jesse). Jesse was the catalyst for the drive to ride, as the younger brother, anything Jesse did-Shaun just had to do. At 4 years old Shaun was already on the slopes of June Mtn shredding with the family.
But at 5 years old, doctors noticed that Shaun suffered from a condition called tetralogy of Fallot, which is a series of heart malformations. Shaun under went two surgeries to repair his damaged heart. This didn't slow Shaun down one bit.
The two brothers, Jesse and Shaun, were in separable. Shaun was always doing what Jesse was doing. So, when Jesse would go skate the YMCA, Shaun was right there too. And when Jesse took to the slopes and gave snowboarding a go, Shaun was on the lift next to him.
The rest is history. Shaun was a natural on the snow. He progressed at an amazing rate. And it didn't take long for Shaun to get notice, because who could miss the littlest kid on the hill.
From summers at Mt. Hood to winters in Mammoth and Big Bear, Shaun was, at an early age, making waves in the burgeoning sport of snowboarding. As the sport grew, Shaun grew with the sport, becoming bigger and bigger with each year.
And now at just 21 years old, Shaun has gone from grom on the hill to superstar celebrity status. Olympic Gold, X Games domination and even though he can't legally rent a car, he does own a Lambo! People might think that Shaun is new to the game, but he has been riding, progressing and having fun skating and snowboarding for over 14 years!
